Studying Under a Kotatsu
Imagine it's winter in Japan. You've arrived home from school, removed your coat and shoes, and have settled yourself comfortably on the floor beneath the kakebuton of your family's kotatsu. While you study, your mother catches up on the news. Your sibling joins you at the heated table, and your family's cat Tama purrs contentedly from beneath the thick blanket trapping the warmth generated by the heater on the underside of the low table.
