Idyllic Study
They chuckled, swore, ran their fingers through their shaggy mess of a hairstyle and highlighted a sentence in their notebook. It wasn't easy. Work never was, but they were... determined, yeah. Or at least they were more afraid of failure than they were depressed, lazy, whatever it was that made their voice tremble, so tempted to roll over for the night. Maybe they wanted to make themself proud. Maybe they were just too exhausted to care anymore about how heavy their heart was. It didn't matter. They had an essay to write for a professor they didn't give a damn about so they weren't going to put in their best work. They were smart. Sometimes, when the nights were long and their head was brimming with thoughts, they could put words together like a seamstress. They could write things so beautifully, like a jeweler. Maybe not tonight, but that was alright. They just had to write three more pages.
