Ancient Celtic Home
The year is 133BC. Your city (the Celtic city of Numantia) has been surrounded by the mighty Roman army, waiting to starve you out. You have lasted five months so far, but your food supply is almost totally exhausted and it hasn't rained for a month.
Your mother is a midwife, and has asked you to assist her as your sister is giving birth to her first child. Her labor has progressed for hours now, and you don't expect her or the baby to survive. Inside the circular, mud house you sit beside her and hold her hand.
