A Lonely Sunday
In a small apartment on the Upper Eastside of New York city, Jada sits on the sill of an open oversized window gazing through the rain drops at the cars passing by on the wet pavement below.
She can feel the mist of the rain drops as they pitty-pat against the bricks of her 5th-story flat. The lightning strikes in the distance illuminating the early evening sky providing a slight reflection upon her chocolate skin. The muffled boom of the thunder sends a sensual vibration through her body from head to toe. The same way his deep, manly voice would when he would speak to her.
With every passing car she thinks, "That could be him", but every gust of wind faintly whispers in her ear "He's gone." He's gone now. He's gone and Jada sits alone on an Autumn Sunday evening staring at the traffic below wondering how her sorrow can feel so refreshing at the same time.
